Beverly Fung

 

Beverly Fung graduated in 2011 from the Academy of Visual Art, Hong Kong Baptist University. Her style draws on Chinese painting techniques, with a contemporary interpretation. She creates bright and colourful chubby characters. Fat babies who are cute and adorable with circular pink-cheeked faces and “cucumber-like” arms, linear eyes, and warm smiles inspire Beverly.

 

Traditional Chinese society dictates that being fat is an attribute of health and heavenly blessing. The artist feels chubby people are usually sincere and kind.
